Her nominator writes: "Gabby has a mitochondrial disorder. She is non verbal, has difficulty with mobility (walks, but has irregular gait pattern), and has numerous health issues. Lately she has been battling gastrointestinal issues and has made many trips to Children’s Hospital. Gabby is a rider in our therapeutic riding program. She loves riding and horses. She also loves butterflies and most of all, she LOVES princesses, which is why this would be perfect for her. She is a happy girl who loves life and has a mind of her own. Although non verbal, she is extremely communicative and it’s not hard to figure out what she’s thinking! She has had princess birthday parties, she has princess dolls, she loves to wear pink and sparkles and she would LOVE this."
Standing in the parking lot with her dad waiting on her and her mom to get out of changing, he hays "Define irony... a girl named Gabby who doesn't talk." and I replied "I was JUST thinking that." That pretty much defines this family's sense of humor and love for her. Gabby immediately picked out just what her nominator and her mother both said she would.. the PINK princess dress. We all wondered if she'd keep the crown on her head, which she did for about 3/4ths of the session. She may not say word, but she sure does have no trouble telling you what she likes or doesn't like. I know that he likes horses, she likes a boy named Ryan, she likes pink and princesses, and loves her sister.
