Visiting Athens and Watkinsville GA
Coming to Athens for a Fairyography photo session?
Getting to Athens:
Flying: Athens does have our own airport, but it's very small and doesn't have in/out flights that don't cost a ton, so you'll be flying in to the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The Atlanta Airport has been the busiest airport in the world since 1998, serving over a hundred million passengers every year. To get from Atlanta to Athens, it's about an hour and a half drive. You can rent a car, take uber or lyft, or you can get the shuttle at Groome Transportation. I always get the shuttle because I really hate driving.
Driving: Athens is about an hour and a half from Atlanta. Atlanta traffic is it's own schedule, so you can pretty much count on the Atlanta area being a parking lot from about 6-11am and again from 2-9pm. GPS is reliable though, so just tell your phone where you're going and follow the directions! The freeways are pretty straightforward, so you should have no trouble as long as you're fine driving through a busy city.
