When I think of child photography, I think of imagination and pretend. What’s more imaginative than fairies? 2016 was amazing for Fairyography – I had 102 photo sessions, met 118 girls and transformed them into 64 fairies, 49 princesses, 20 Angels, 2 mermaids, and 8 memorial princesses. Of those, 27 sets of them were sisters, and 1 set of cousins! PLUS I welt a little viral with the Hairyography April Fool’s joke, I had 2 published magazine spreads, I did fairy photo sessions in WA and LA. I even added 14 new dresses and 6 new pairs of fairy wings, added mermaids, attended 1 photography convention, taught 3 workshops, and did 2 online teaching videos.
Of those 102 sessions, I picked one image that I liked the best, then I picked my top 20 from those and my Top 10 from those! It’s hard to narrow it down like that. Here are my very favorites for 2016 in no particular order!
Sweet sisters blowing dandelions in the peach orchards.
Lavender fields in sunset near Seattle Washington were a perfect backdrop for these three girls.
Perfect hair and a pink princess ball gown make his girl shine in the red flowers.
Delicately touching the purple irises at the gardens, I love how this girl posed herself.
Taken in New Orleans, these sisters sat perfectly on these tree roots under the spanish moss.
Another image in the peach orchards, this dancer in her pointe shoes in the pink flowers make this photo even prettier.
These amazing sisters snuggle together in the gardens at UGA for this photo.
This green dress is one of my very favorites, and the dragonfly crown was the perfect addition.
I love the sweet pose this girl did on her own for her ice fairy photos.
One of my Memorial Princess sessions, this beautiful princess’s parents were told she was too pretty to have autism.
