I’m Heather Lickiter. I run the Fairytales section of Stylized Portraiture. I’m bit of a tom-boy and I can’t live without my Diet Coke and Skittles.
I get asked so often; “Heather, you’re not really a girly girl. Why Princess photos?” The answer? MAGIC. No, really. That’s it. I love being able to put into visual form the fantasies that children see in their heads.
My clients show up in normal street clothes and in 15 minutes they’re transformed into a pure princess with a real gown, crystal crown and a giant smile. There’s just something magical about a girl in a gown. She seems to automatically know how to walk so as not to trip over her skirts and certainly smiles more.
There’s something amazing about being able to be someone else for a few hours. I get to follow them into a world of their own for a while and it’s always different and wonderful. Children imagine things we can’t understand and make each session into a whole experience. With my clients, I’ve been to a princess palace, fairyland, candyland, Japan, unicorn farms, kitty corner, Andalasia (Enchanted), the moon, ponyland and more.
I get to see some magic in every girl and every session.
